Technical Staff
Members of the ETIC Technical Staff have over 143 years experience in the design, manufacturing and testing of semiconductor devices.
PRESIDENT / IC DESIGNER JOEL VAN ANTWERP
Joel has over 41 years circuit design experience with top semiconductor companies including WESTERN ELECTRIC, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, and TRW-OPTOELECTRONICS (where he designed the first "PHOTOLOGIC" ™ Opto-Schmitt IC in 1979). Joel has done numerous light sensing designs and started his own design company in 1984 which was acquired by BEI Motion Systems in 1989. Joel holds 10 patents in IC Design. Joel started EAST TEXAS INTEGRATED CIRCUITS, INC. with Ben Wagner in 1990.
CEO / WAFER FAB COORDINATOR BEN WAGNER
Ben has 42 years experience in the semiconductor industry including wafer fabrication experience at TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, SEMTECH, TRW-OPTOELECTRONICS and OPTEK TECHNOLOGIES. Ben is responsible for wafer fabrication coordination, manufacturing, sales, accounting and purchasing.
VP ENGINEERING / IC DESIGNER JOHNNY FOSTER
Johnny has 30 years experience in IC design. Johnny worked for IBM in Santa Clara, California where he completed his Masters, EE at Santa Clara University. Johnny joined TRW-OPTOELECTRONICS in 1980 where he served as IC Design Manager from 1980 to 1996 when he joined ETIC. Johnny has extensive experience in optoelectronic and Hall-Effect designs. Johnny has designed such successful IC's as cam shaft and and crank shaft position sensors, fiber optic sensors, and numerous optoelectronic sensors. Johnny holds two patents in IC design and has published two technical papers.
VP TEST AND QUALITY CONTROL / BRYCE EDMONDS
Bryce has 30 years experience in optoelectronics design, manufacturing and testing. Bryce joined Honeywell Optoelectronics as the military optoelectronics manufacturing engineer in 1977. He later joined OPTEK Technology where he served as the design engineer for military optoelectronics until 1992. Bryce assumed the position of Test Engineering Manager for INTERPHASE, INC. until he joined ETIC in 1997. Bryce designed the test equipment presently used by ETIC and coordinates outside test and qualification.
