For ET9580LH and ET9590LH devices which offer input balance trimming.
ETIC’s 9580 and 9590 devices incorporate circuitry for compensating imbalances between two differential inputs. The trim pins allow connection to an external resistor, or pot, to compensate for a range of imbalances. Pairs of pins are labeled for each channel, such as “A Trim” on pins 22 and 23. Balance is most easily accomplished by connecting a pot between each pair of trim pins, with the wipers of the pots connected to ground. Adjusting the pots affects the tail currents in the input amplifiers. The range of adjustment varies with the value of the pot, and is described in the table below. If no imbalance exists, these pins may be connected directly to ground.
| TRIM POT VALUE |
INPUT IMBALANCE |
| 100 OHM |
UP TO 1.59 : 1 |
| 200 OHM |
UP TO 2.53 : 1 |
| 500 OHM |
UP TO 10.1 : 1 |
